Brad Pitt sues Angelina Jolie for the French estate Château Miraval

Just when it seemed like things were getting colder with brad pitt and Angelina Jolie, the former couple’s legal drama is trending again. On Thursday, multiple outlets revealed that Pitt was suing Jolie for selling his 50% stake in the winery they jointly owned.

The former couple bought Château Miraval in Correns, France, in 2008 and they even got married there in 2014. In October 2021, Russian businessman Yuri Shefler, Tenute del Mondo company, announced having purchased Jolie’s stake in the estate and the wines it produces. With the lawsuit, Pitt wants the deal void and damages.

Legal documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court were obtained by TMZ and, while Jolie dropped the $28.4 million purchase price by 40%, Pitt claims to have invested millions in the cellar over the years, which is one of the world’s best producers of rosé wine.

Per Page Six, the docs claim that in 2013, “Jolie completely stopped contributing” to the renovations, while Pitt “poured money and sweat into the wine business. Jolie seeks to grab profits she did not earn and the returns on an investment she did not make.

He also claims that they understood that neither of them could sell their stake without the consent of the other. Jolie went to court last July and reached an agreement to sell her stake to an anonymous person, but Pitt says he was supposed to sign off on the identity of the proposed buyer. A source close to Pitt told TMZ, “Unfortunately, this is another example of the same person disregarding their legal and ethical obligations. In doing so, they violated the rights of the only person who paid money and equity in the success of the business by pretending to sell both the business and the family home to a third-party competitor.
