U-19 World Cup winners Vicky Ostwal and Kaushal Tambe in Maharashtra Ranji Trophy squad

Two members of India’s U-19 World Cup winning squad, Vicky Ostwal and the versatile Kaushal Tambe have joined the Maharashtra Ranji Trophy squad.

Maharashtra’s senior selection committee trusted Ostwal, one of the most successful bowlers in the U-19 tournament held in the Caribbean and Kaushal Tambe, an out-spinner and aggressive hitter known for finishing matches.

Ostwal hails from the scenic hill station of Lonavala and later moved to the outskirts of Pune, while Tambe, the son of a senior police officer, hails from Pune itself.

Maharashtra are placed in the Elite G group for the coveted national tournament and will play their league matches in Haryana from February 17.

The team will be led by veteran campaigner Ankeet Bawane, while striker Rahul Tripathi will serve as his deputy.
